Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology
Medical laboratory technology is a fast developing diagnostic technology, which deals with the laboratory investigations to be used for the proper diagnosis of disease. The laboratory diagnosis helps the physicians for the correct line of treatment for the patients. There are mainly three main subjects such as Biochemistry, Microbiology including General Microbiology, Bacteriology, Immunology, Mycology, Virology and parasitology, clinical pathology, Cytology, histopathology and Blood banking.
Objectives To train the students for carrying out the laboratory investigations accurately and report to the Medical Officers which will help them in deciding the correct line of treatment for the patients.
Duration – 2 year
Eligibility – 40 % marks in Science Subjects in 10th, Plus 2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects or any other examination recognized by the Universities in Kerala as equivalent there to be eligible for admission.
Allotment of Seats – 50% seats will be filled on the basis of state merit list prepared by DME, Govt.of Kerala & 50 % seats reserved for management quota. Application forms can be obtained from the Institutes office
Selection Procedure – As per the norms of DME & Kerala Paramedical Council.
For all the programs there will be mark relaxation as per the Go’s issued by Govt.of India/Govt.of Kerala with usual relaxation for SC/ST/OBC.
