KVM Institute of Paramedical Sciences was set up in 2009 to provide technically competent professional for the rapidly changing health care needs of the Society. KVM IPMS is administered by KVM Trust (K.Velayudhan Memorial Trust with Dr.V.V. Pyrelal as the Director. K.V.M Trust is a registered Society   formed in 1983, working in the areas of educational charity. Several Institutions have been set up by the KVM Trust to provide Health, technical and specialized education for improving the welfare of woman, children and other weaker sections including persons with physically and intellectual disabilities. KVM IPMS has unique facilities coupled with excellent faculties for the professional grooming of students. Well furnished class rooms equipped with modern educational aids such as computers, LCD Projector, over head projector etc. We have separate, well equipped Laboratories for Pathology, Biochemistry, Microbiology and Electronics for providing excellent practical experience for the students. The Institute have sufficient number of faculties. Most of the faculties are post graduate in Medical Laboratory Technology with 3 to 30 yrs of post PG Teaching experience. Before joining in this Institute as Principal, I was a teacher in Medical Laboratory technology in Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram for more than 22 years and retired from Government Service as Associate Professor in MLT. Overall Success of this Institute is due to the inspiration of our great Director Dr.V.V.Pyrelal who inspiring us to success.

KVMIPMS has several computer systems with BSNL Connection opened to the students. We also have Wi – Fi Connection through JIO.We have a large and spacious library enriched with latest medical and Paramedical books ,journals, reference materials and with internet facility will give an excellent opportunity to students to enhance their knowledge. Qualified and experienced library staff will be helping them to make use of these facilities. In addition we have departmental library with more than 900 paramedical books and journals. We have an auditorium with seating capacity of more than 300, has every facilities for conducting educational and Cultural programs .At present hostel facilities are provided only for girls within the campus of the College.KVM Multispecialty hospital, Our sister concern forms the backbone of our Institute .A fully equipped automated Laboratory and operation theatres are the added attraction for the Course.

Since this Institute is the only one of its kind in Alappuzha District, It has many opportunities to conduct practical training program and other major awareness program etc in the field of Medical Laboratory Technology. Students have the opportunities in participating training program, workshop, Seminars etc.
